‘Monark’ RPG by former developer ‘Shin Megami Tensei’ was launched in October
A group of former Athlus developers who previously worked on the Shin Megami Tensei franchise had launched a new JRPG brand called Monark. The developers have just imitated their first trailer, showing the character of “New School RPG” and a brief view of the gameplay. Like SMT and Persona games by Atlus, it looks like Monark will have a hero without a name (maybe most of it is silent) and a collection of colorful allies that you can be opposed to.
According to the latest edition of Famitsu Weekly as reported by the Gematsu, Monark’s story attended the true student council assigned to resolve strange events at their school. The hero, who became the head of the council, had to choose allies to solve mysteries with from four characters. Each character has a different route, and the story itself has several ends.
Comando-based battle and use a free step turn system, which will not be surprising for SMT and Persona fans. Based on the trailer, you will be able to control the demon during the battle – in fact, your Devil subordinates will be affected by your “ego” points, and you can also change their appearance and sound. The “ego” system game scores for pride, wrath, envy, lust, greedy, and sloths that you exhibit throughout your playthrough, based on the choices you make.
Monark will be available on October 14, 2021 in Japan for the Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5. Unfortunately, there is still no information about the date of the West Release, or even if there will be one in the future.
